3- Day Tamil to Kashmiri Translation Workshop begins at Delhi
NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 02- Three day workshop on translation of selected Tamil short stories into Kashmiri was inaugurated today here at the conference hall of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Aziz Hajini, noted Kashmir writer and Convener of Sahitya Akademi's  Northern Regional Board/ Kashmiri. 
Eminent Tamil Writer Dr. Sirpi Balasubramaniam is participating in the workshop as a Resource Person. Outstanding writers and translators- Prof Farooq Fayaz, Prof Sheikh Mohammed Aijaz, Mushtaq Ahmed Mushtaq, Dr. Amin Fayaz, Prof G.S. Raina and Anjali Kaul are also participating in the workshop.
In his inaugural address, Dr Hajni said that integration of various languages and literature written therein is one among the main functions of Sahitya Akademi. 
“To bring literary sensibilities of two distant languages of India spoken in extreme North and extreme Southern parts of the country is the main motive of this workshop”, added Hajni.
While welcoming the experts, translators and others who were present on this occasion, Dr. S. Rajmohan, Deputy Secretary (Admn), Sahitya Akademi said that this is a proud privilege of Sahitya Akademi to organize a translation workshop by engaging the outstanding writers and translators of two important, ancient and distant languages of the country.
The workshop will continue for three days and the Tamil short stories translated into Kashmiri, during the workshop, shall be published in a book form. 
The proceedings of the inaugural session were conducted by  Anupam Tiwari, who also proposed the vote of Thanks at the end of the inaugural session.
