DDC Ramban reviews disaster management preparedness
RAMBAN, JULY 18:  To meet any eventually in the ongoing rainy season, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today reviewed the disaster management preparedness in the district here at a meeting of line departments and police administration.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Nawab Din, ADC Dr. Basharat Hussain, ACR Harbans Lal, Commandant CRPF, ACD, XEN PDD, DFOs, CEO, SDMs and Officers from SDRF, Civil Defence, Police and local QRTs.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on disaster preparedness and management scenario in the district. It was informed that sufficient stock of food grains, disaster management kits, sandbags, tents and other essentials have been made available to meet any kind of eventuality.
It was given out that youth from all over the district have volunteered for taking  active part in relief and rescue operations during  any calamities situations.
The DDC directed the concerned to procure disaster management kits, first aid kits, and other basic requirements needed during the emergencies. 
The DDC directed the departments and SDRF to submit resource inventory of all items including men and machinery. He also reviewed the status of response teams and called for constituting well equipped joint rescue teams comprising Army, Police, Para- military forces, Fire and Emergency, SDRF, trained voluntaries etc.
He stressed on conducting of mock drill exercise in all schools and college of the district   besides joint mock drill to create awareness among the general public to avert all disasters as a precautionary measure.
He also stressed on coming forward of volunteers for disaster management training.
