DC Kargil visits stranded passengers at Khree Sultan Chow Stadium
KARGIL, NOVEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal on Friday visited Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium here and took stock of the facilities being provided to the stranded passengers by the district administration due to the closure of the Kargil Srinagar National Highway due to snowfall.
The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure that boarding and lodging facilities including beddings, heating facilities, hygienic food and water, toilet facilities, clothing materials, medicare and other essential facilities are provided to the stranded passengers.
The DC assured the stranded passengers that the District Administration is providing them all facilities while as efforts are in progress to open the Kargil Srinagar National Highway at the earliest to ensure that the passengers reach their respective destinations.
The DC said that to facilitate the stranded passengers lodgementcentres have been established at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Kargil, Boys Higher Secondary School and Girls Higher Secondary School Kargil and Poyen.
He said that free ration, as well as jackets, blankets and other clothing materials, have been provided to the passengers while as mobile teams of Medical Department have been pressed into service to check any health-related issues.
The DC said that for the convenience of stranded passengers at Drass lodgementcentres have been set up at Higher Secondary School Drass and Panchayat Ghar Drass and SDM and other officers concerned may be contacted for any sort of assistance.    
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sonam Chosjor, Headquarter Assistant to DC Kargil Muhammad Shabir and other concerned officers accompanied the DC.
