Anti-encroachment drive held at Awantipora
PULWAMA, NOVEMBER 8: District administration Pulwama today launched anti-encroachment drive against the illegal structures along Srinagar-Jammu national highway and demolished several structures.
The demolition drive, headed by the Tehsildar Awantipora Zubair Ahmad Bhat, was carried out in Awantipora and its adjacent areas in which several structures falling in the alignment of the national highway were demolished.
It is pertinent to mention here, that Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, G.M Dar had time and again issued directions against illegal structures and pledged zero tolerance against illegal encroachments. Dar also warned, stern action against sand extractors who are illegally extracting sand from river Jhelum and dumping it on roads.
Deputy Commissioner has also constituted Special task force teams headed by respective Tehsildars for checking the creeping of illegal, stealthily build structures and illegal sand extraction from river Jhelum in the District.
