DDC Ramban reviews implementation of Juvenile Justice Act
RAMBAN, AUGUST 10:  A meeting of District Child Protection Society under Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) was held here today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat to review the implementation of Juvenile Justice Act 2013.
The meeting was attended by District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) ADC, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh who is holding additional Charge of District Programme Officer Ramban, Child Protection Officer Institutional and non institutional, Legal Officer, Chairperson Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and members of CWC under Juvenile Justice Act (JJA).
The DCPS felt that there is a greater need to strengthen the child protection mechanism at the district level for which they asked the concerned officers to implement the ICPS in letter and spirit so that Children in need of Care and protection and Children in Conflict with Law can be benefited.
The DDC said that the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) is a government sponsored scheme for the welfare of Children in Need of care and protection and Children in Conflict with Law and asked the Department to conduct awareness programme and involve civil society and NGOs to identify the beneficiaries for whom ICPS is intended.
The DDC asked DCPO to form Child Protection data management system of the district and identify the Children in Need of care and rehabilitate them under ICPS. He also directed   DCPO to inspect all child care centres running in the district and take review of facilities provided to the inmates.
